Facts:
Liability and damages were disputed by the parties to this subject automobile accident. A Bibb County jury deliberated for 40 minutes before returning a verdict in favor of defendant.

Plaintiff Delicia Collins was driving her vehicle southbound on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon. At the intersection of Pio Nono Avenue and Napier Avenue, an oncoming  vehicle driven by Defendant Leroy Hurst attempted to make a left turn. Plaintiff struck defendant’s turning vehicle.

Plaintiff alleged that she had a green light at the intersection and defendant failed to yield the right-of-way. Passengers in plaintiff’s vehicle corroborated her story. Plaintiff claimed soft tissue neck and back injuries as a direct result of this accident.

Defendant contended that he had a green turn arrow and plaintiff failed to stop for a red light. Defendant also disputed the nature and extent of plaintiff’s injuries.

Plaintiff Profile: Plaintiff was a 35 year old female who was employed at Boeing.

Alleged Injury: Soft tissue cervical and lumbar injuries which resolved with medical treatment after a period of time. Plaintiff was out of work for six months. She claimed $5,780 in medicals, $16,124 in lost wages, and damages for pain and suffering.
